Author: Taylor Kempkes

A car enthusiast from birth—or close to it—Taylor Kempkes has been intrigued by anything with wheels and motors for as long as he can remember. Playing with Hot Wheels as a child turned to drawing cars in school notebooks. Once his 16th birthday hit, things ramped up even more. In his first years of college, Taylor set his sights on becoming an automotive journalist. This goal drove him to complete his bachelor’s degree at California State University Long Beach with a major in Journalism and minor in Communications. While still in school, he started making connections in the automotive industry which landed him an internship with HOT ROD Magazine where he would soon become a full-time staff editor. Taylor then spent four years learning as much as possible about hot rods and muscle cars while writing for iconic titles such as HOT ROD, Super Chevy, Street Rodder, Classic Trucks, and more. Then a new opportunity arose and he transitioned his career with a job here at Classic Performance Products. His title? That is still TBD and might remain as such for the foreseeable future. Besides, who need a title anyway? You can see his work across multiple facets of CPP, from running the social media pages to photographing and writing instruction sheets, to authoring post on this very blog site.
